DNR Communication and Outreach Summer Internship

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) provides outdoor recreation activities and manages Minnesota’s natural resources to create economic opportunity and a sustainable quality of life. We are driven to find talented, innovative employees to help us carry out this mission.

We are currently seeking to fill an Outreach and Information internship based in the New Ulm office. This internship is part-time and the incumbent will work approximately 20 hours per week.

This internship exists to provide bi-lingual support services to the South Region Planner and Information Officer in the areas of outreach, information, and education. The internship will focus efforts on outreach to the Region’s underserved diverse populations.

Normal days of work will be Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am-4:30pm. Housing is not provided.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assist the Regional Information Officer with regional communications and outreach efforts, having an emphasis on communicating with bilingual or non-English speaking audiences located throughout DNR South Region.
  2. Assist the Regional Planner with outreach and marketing efforts in the Minnesota River Valley Recreation and Conservation Area.
  3. Support the Regional Director and the Regional Management Team (RMT) in achieving regional objectives.
