Internship Opportunity with SMSU Civic Engagement Office

SMSU Center for Civic Engagement is looking to recruit student interns from a variety of departments within the university. Literature, Communication, and Writing majors are being sought after because SMSU English students demonstrate an advanced understanding of literary works and effective communication through literature, business, technical and creative writing classes. The Center for Civic Engagement can provide these students the opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired from the English Department.   In support of the SMSU Mission, the Center for Civic Engagement connects academic programs with community needs to use scholarship and action for the mutual benefit of the University, its communities, and its diverse peoples. The Center serves as the intersection between student learning, faculty research, and community engagement. It is committed to illuminating the variety of ways in which SMSU strives to make civic and community engagement integral to learning experiences campus-wide.

If interested, or for more information, contact the Center for Civic Engagement Chairperson and Co-coordinator-- Dr. Christine Olson. You may also contact a Center for Civic Engagement student intern for more information.
