We are looking for someone whose talents and values align with the skills needed to be a Director, Marketing Communications within the Law School at the University of Notre Dame.
This position will create and implement the Notre Dame Law School Marketing Communications plan. Provide direction and leadership in the development and execution of the Law School’s marketing and communication efforts. These include print publications, electronic communications, websites, and Law School events that promote the education, research, and outreach of the Law School and improve its image and reputation with prospective students and other key audiences worldwide. Oversee project management to ensure the Marketing Communications Office effectively communicates information about the value and quality of the Law School to audiences including prospective students, donors, faculty, staff, the legal community, and peer law schools. Develop a balanced and integrated approach to the use of communications tools (alumni magazine, websites, video, social media, email, print marketing, events, national and local media relations, etc.). Supervise and mentor Marketing Communications staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in English, liberal arts, journalism, or related field, and: Significant experience supervising others, including creative teams, and in working across teams on collaborative projects. Professional experience as a writer and editor with excellent skills in feature/news writing, grammar, editing, copyediting, and proofreading is required. Ability to interpret and organize complex information into understandable copy for the common reader and to draft more complex copy for specialized audiences. Demonstrated ability to write clearly, creatively, and persuasively on a wide variety of subjects related to legal education, using journalistic norms and skills. Demonstrable interpersonal skills suitable for frequent contact with faculty and colleagues across the university and off campus. Expert skills and experience in customer service and client relationship management, including ability to work with diverse creative and technical teams and the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with a broad range of campus constituencies. Strong planning and organizational skills, including a keen attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Professional marketing experience required.
